Found an old school arcade today. It makes me happy. Quarter per play as well. NP

That’s fantastic. I recently started playing pinball with some friends and even ended up in a tournament last week. There’s an arcade near me that has about 15 pinball machines plus some consoles, and you can pay $10 for unlimited games of free play. It’s not a bad deal if you stick around for a few hours and get your money’s worth. Play anything in particular that was really good?

Pole Position. It’s been a while, but I qualified. They also had that cool Star Wars pinball machine.

Nice. I was actually playing Star Wars pinball yesterday at an arcade in New Jersey. And Pole Position is a timeless classic.

We have one of those in my city, the beer is reasonably priced and they serve homemade perogies.
My only issue is that they tend to have live bands playing in the evening so I can’t really hangout, chat, and play games since the music is deafening.
I quickly came to a realization that I suck at pinball since I happen to have the expert skill of making the ball fall directly in between the two paddles where it’s impossible to reach.

That’s why you have to learn how to “nudge” the machine. There’s a lot that you can get away with before the tilt alarm goes off.

Ah, before I fail, got it. I usually “nudge” the machine out of frustration after I fuck up.

Usually a little nudge to either side helps the ball to not end up in that unreachable spot. Each machine has its limits, and some are more sensitive than others but it usually doesn’t take much.
